SP-1

Teenage EngineeringOther

Unreleased stem player that doubles as an nRF52840 dev board

The SP-1 is a handheld stem player designed by Teenage Engineering that was never officially released. It has four faders, four track buttons, a speaker, a USB-C port, a TRS sync jack and an internal eMMC card that holds the song stems. Units that were built reached buyers as-is through liquidation and online resellers, and the community has since documented the board and written new firmware for its Nordic nRF52840 microcontroller.

Notes

Teenage Engineering has no product page, support or documentation for the SP-1. The bootloader can be re-entered by holding Track 1 and Track 4 while plugging in USB, and the firmware entries here flash through the browser-based Solderless utility without opening the case. Several of them state that the stock firmware cannot be restored once replaced.
