Firmware for FM-1 (M-VAVE)

Generative ambient and drone firmware built on Felucca and Jangada: one key press rolls a pad, a sequence, a chord arpeggio and a live-playing voice in a shared key, with a church-themed look and a browser installer.

Description

The Immaculate Permutation mode generates an arrangement in a chosen scale (minor, dorian or one of two pentatonic scales), and OCT+ reveals a new one. It can evolve on its own every 2 to 32 bars, ENV + OCT+ changes the harmony and LFO + OCT+ adds slow modulation across the four tracks. Holding SAVE checkpoints the current arrangement as a project while it plays. The drone algorithm is adapted from Jangada and the platform, engines, editor and storage come from Felucca. Saves from this firmware cannot be read by older Felucca or Jangada firmware. The author describes it as experimental and reports testing sermon saving on one FM-1.

Install notes

Web installer page in desktop Chrome or Edge over Web MIDI (SysEx), with one FM-1 connected, or flash the .fwsc from the release page. The installer can back up saved music first and keeps saved projects, presets and samples. Keep USB and power connected until it finishes. It inherits Felucca's recovery paths.
