Akai ProfessionalSamplers
MPC1000-series sampler and sequencer
The MPC1000 is a compact sampler and sequencer from Akai Professional, introduced in the early 2000s with a 4x4 grid of 16 pads, 32-voice playback and Compact Flash storage. The MPC2500 followed as a larger revision with more I/O and up to 128 MB of RAM. Both belong to the second generation of MPC hardware that came after the MPC2000 series.
JJOS is the established alternative OS for this family. The JJOS site lists the MPC1000 variants and links to a separate MPC2500 page.
Long-running alternative operating system for the MPC1000 series, sold in several tiers, with a free version whose save function is locked until a paid password is entered.
