Description

Emulates the SH7043 processor and two SWP30 chips, using chip code taken from MAME, so voices and behaviour come from the real firmware. It runs as a plug-in on Windows, Linux and macOS, as a standalone window with the front panel and LCD drawn on screen, and in a browser. The author compares output with recordings of real hardware over S/PDIF. Program and wave ROMs are not included and must be dumped from your own MU2000, using tools in the repository; the project asks users not to redistribute those images. The project states it is not affiliated with Yamaha.

Install notes

Bring your own firmware. Dump the 4 MB program ROM and 32 MB wave ROM from your own unit with the tools in doc/dump, then point the plug-in at the folder. Dumping with the repository's own dumper writes into the unit's firmware area, which the author says Yamaha's updater can restore; a MIDI-only route that leaves the firmware untouched is also described. The release is a rolling unsigned snapshot.
