Description
Not a patch but a new ROM assembled from the original DX9 binary, code from the DX7 V1.8 ROM and new code. Described by the author as thoroughly tested and ready for everyday use. A known issue is slower real-time control than a DX7 because of the pitch EG processing on the DX9's slower CPU. Newer versions store patches at a fixed location in external RAM, so upgrades should not corrupt patch memory, but the original published version did not.
Install notes
Burn the ROM to an EPROM and fit it in place of the DX9's mask ROM. Back up patches, and hold FUNCTION while powering on after installing to initialise parameter memory. The author will help people who cannot burn an EPROM.
