Description
FotonJD990 is a JUCE application with a Rust core, with the parameter map kept in TOML files. The panel is modelled on the JD-800's. It covers patch editing, effect chain ordering, seven-part performance mode with voice allocation, a SQLite patch library with tags, search, compare, morph and variation, SysEx and MIDI file import and export, and conversion of JD-800 patches. A command line tool does backups and file conversion. The interface and design documents are in German. The author describes it as work in progress, built and tested on macOS with real hardware; Linux is untested and Windows has not been tried.
Install notes
No prebuilt download; build from source with Xcode Command Line Tools, CMake, Rust and JUCE 9.0.2 as described in the README. The editor writes only to the module's temporary edit buffers and never to internal memory, using an address whitelist; the README still advises backing up the module first with the bundled command line tool.
