Description
Every mod is optional and the installer shows a safety meter for how far a selection goes beyond the 1.8 set. Version 2.0 adds a Sampling Mode that gives new recordings SP1200 or S900 character. Other mods listed include double STOP, step move event, input thru, program transpose, TUNE +/-360 and LPF/HPF. The Classic gains folders, track programs and a sorted file list, and can output SYS, IMG or HFE; the XL outputs a modified BIN. macOS and Windows installers are provided. The original file is not changed and nothing is written to the MPC by the installer. A GitHub repository linked from the page holds the source of the original eight-mod pack and may lag behind the current release.
Install notes
Supply your original Akai OS, choose mods and an output format, then copy the result to your boot medium. The author recommends running the built-in memory test on the original OS first and booting the XL from a card or floppy.
